Грузия ставит под угрозу перспективы своего членства в ЕС и НАТО: Государственный департамент США

Соединенные Штаты осуждают принятый во втором чтении в Парламенте Грузии законопроект «О прозрачности иностранного влияния», который угрожает евроатлантической интеграции Грузии. Oб этом говорится в заявлении Госдепартамента США. 

Ведомство отмечает, что законопроект разработан под влиянием Кремля и направлен на то, чтобы «заставить замолчать критиков и разрушить активное гражданское общество Грузии». 

«Заявления и действия грузинского правительства несовместимы с демократическими ценностями, лежащими в основе членства в ЕС и НАТО, и, таким образом, ставят под угрозу путь Грузии к евроатлантической интеграции», - говорится в заявлении, распространенном Госдепартаментом. 

Согласно заявлению, помощь Запада Грузии в развитии экономики и демократии, оказываемая на протяжении 32 лет, «неверно характеризуется» официальным Тбилиси, и это «в корне подрывают прочные отношения, которые у нас сложились с правительством и народом Грузии». 

Государственный департамент также осудил «применение насилия против мирных протестующих, в том числе против журналистов», и призвал власти «позволить ненасильственным протестующим продолжать осуществлять свое право на свободу выражения мнений». 

Законопроект обязывает неправительственные организации и средства массовой информации, которые получают более 20% своего финансирования из-за рубежа, регистрироваться в качестве организаций, отстаивающих интересы иностранной державы. 

Премьер-министр Грузии Ираклий Кобахидзе заявил, что такое законодательство необходимо для обеспечения финансовой прозрачности получателей грантов. 

С 15 апреля оппозиция и гражданские активисты в Тбилиси проводят митинги против принятия этого законопроекта.
