"Azg": Senate of Louisiana State recognized the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh
Senate of the U.S. state of Louisiana passed a resolution supporting the independence of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, according to the website of the legislature of the state.
The resolution expresses support for the efforts of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, aimed at the development as a free and independent nation.
In adopting the resolution the fact that Nagorno-Karabakh, also known as Artsakh, is historically Armenian territory inhabited by the vast majority of Armenians, which the Soviet Union had illegally separated from Armenia in 1921 and placed under the supervision of the newly established Soviet Azerbaijan, also was taken into account.
Thus, the Senate of Louisiana is the fourth Legislature of United States, which recognized the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh, the newspaper "Azg" writes.
