Եվրահանձնաժողովը չի ֆինանսավորում արգելքների ստեղծումը, բայց պատրաստ է Լիտվային լրացուցիչ ֆինանսական օգնություն տրամադրել սահմանների կառավարման համար`ապօրինի միգրացիայի հետ կապված խնդիրների ֆոնին, ասել է ԵՀ մամուլի ծառայության ներկայացուցիչը:
«Եվրահանձնաժողովը աջակցում է Լիտվայում սահմանների կառավարման գործընթացին ինչպես գործառնական, այնպես էլ ֆինանսական առումով և անհրաժեշտության դեպքում՝ պատրաստ է տրամադրել հետագա օգնություն: Մենք քննարկում ենք Լիտվայի հետ հետագա օժանդակությունը, այդ թվում` ֆինանսական», - ասել է նա:
Լիտվան վերջերս հայտարարել է Բելառուսի հետ սահմանին ձերբակալված անօրինական միգրանտների թվի աճի մասին: Հուլիսի 2-ին երկրի իշխանությունները հայտարարեցին ծայրահեղ իրավիճակ`կապված ապօրինի միգրանտների հոսքի հետ: Իր հերթին, Բելառուսի նախագահ Ալեքսանդր Լուկաշենկոն հայտարարել է, որ հանրապետությունն այլևս չի զսպի միգրանտների դեպի ԵՄ երկրներ ապօրինի մուտքը։ Արևմուտքի պատժամիջոցների պատճառով՝ Մինսկը «դրա համար փող և ուժ չունի»: Լիտվայի վարչապետ Ինգրիդա Սիմոնիտեն ասել է, որ հանրապետությունը որոշում է կայացրել «պարսպապատվել» Բելառուսից փշալարերով ցանկապատով:
