ԱՄՆ նախագահ Ջո Բայդենը զինվորականներին լիազորել է 3000 պահեստայինների հավաքագրել՝ աջակցելու Եվրոպայում գործողություններին։ Այս մասին հայտնում է Politico-ն՝ հղում կատարելով բարձրաստիճան գեներալի։

Նշվում է, որ հայտնի չէ, թե արդյո՞ք ԱՄՆ պաշտպանության նախարարության ղեկավար Լլոյդ Օսթինը իրականում նախատեսում է մոտ ապագայում տեղակայել այդ պահեստայիններին։ Այնուամենայնիվ, այս քայլը ցույց է տալիս, որ Եվրոպայում ԱՄՆ-ի զինվորականների ուսումնական առաքելությունը, ինչպես նաև մի քանի նոր բրիգադների տեղակայումը ներխուժումից հետո հանգեցրել է անձնակազմի կրճատմանը:

Ըստ ԱՄՆ Եվրոպական հրամանատարության խոսնակ, կապիտան Բիլ Սփիքսի՝ որոշումը եվրոպական հրամանատարությանը «ավելի մեծ ճկունություն» է տալիս մայրցամաքը պաշտպանելու համար:

Նախագահի հրամանը նաև առաջին անգամ սահմանում է ԱՄՆ-ի գլխավորած «Ատլանտյան վճռականություն» օպերացիան Եվրոպայում՝ որպես արտակարգ գործողություն, որը թույլ է տալիս Պենտագոնին ներգրավել պահեստային ուժեր և օգտագործել արագացված գնումների լիազորություն՝ այդ զորքերին սարքավորումներ մատակարարելու համար:

Ավելի վաղ ամերիկյան հետախուզության պաշտոնաթող սպա Սքոթ Ռիթերը հայտարարել էր, որ եթե ինքը մասնակցի Ուկրաինայի հակամարտությանը, ԱՄՆ բանակը կպարտվի։ Նրա կարծիքով՝ զինվորականները կվերացվեն, քանի որ նրանք պատրաստված չեն գործողություններ իրականացնելու Արևելյան Եվրոպայում։ «Եթե մենք մեկ դիվիզիա ուղարկենք Ուկրաինա, այն մի քանի օրից կկործանվի»,- վստահությամբ ասել է Ռիթերը։
