Մեկ շաբաթից էլ քիչ ժամանակում Հայաստան է ժամանել մոտ 100 հազար մարդ, այդ թվում՝ մոտ 30 հազար երեխա։ Այս մասին UN News-ին տված հարցազրույցում ասել է Հայաստանում ՅՈՒՆԻՍԵՖ-ի ներկայացուցիչ Քրիստին Վեյգանդը՝ խոսելով Արցախի հայերի հետ կապված իրավիճակի մասին, որոնք ստիպված են եղել լքել իրենց հայրենիքը Ադրբեջանի ագրեսիայի պատճառով։

«Նրանք բոլորը եկել էին Հայաստանի հարավում գտնվող այս փոքրիկ քաղաքով` Գորիսով, որն ունի ընդամենը 20 հազար բնակչություն նորմալ պայմաններում, որը ստիպված էր դիմակայել նման հսկայական հոսքին: Մինչ այժմ շատ ընտանիքներ տեղափոխվել են երկրի տարբեր շրջաններ՝ կա՛մ այնտեղ հարազատներ կամ ընկերներ ունենալու պատճառով, կա՛մ էլ հաստատվել են երկրի կառավարության տրամադրած կացարաններում:

«Ընտանիքների՝ Հայաստան ժամանման առաջին օրերին այցելեցի Հայաստանի կառավարության կողմից ստեղծված հաշվառման կենտրոններ։ Գրանցման այս կենտրոններն ունեին բուժքույրերով ու բժիշկներով աշխատող «առողջապահական կայաններ», և ես զրուցեցի նրանց հետ՝ հարցնելով, թե երեխաները ինչ ֆիզիկական և հոգեկան վիճակում են ժամանել։ Եվ նրանք բոլորը նույն բանն էին ասում. երեխաները եկել էին սոված, թերսնվածության նշաններով, շատ հոգնած, նրանցից շատերը ջերմություն ունեին կամ այլ հիվանդություններ: Այս կենտրոններում աշխատող հոգեբաններն էլ ասացին, որ երեխաները շոկի մեջ էին, փորձում էին հասկանալ, թե ինչ է կատարվում իրենց հետ... »:

Նա նշել է, որ երկարաժամկետ հեռանկարում հիմնական մարտահրավերը կլինի կրթությունը՝ հաշվի առնելով այդքան շատ երեխաների տեղավորումը: «Մենք տեսանք, որ որոշ ուսուցիչներ փորձում էին գտնել իրենց աշակերտներին, համախմբել, միայն թե նորմալության զգացողություն ստեղծեն... Կրթության նախարարությունն առաջին իսկ օրերից ասում էր, որ այդ երեխաներին ինտեգրելու է դպրոցական համակարգին։ Կարծում եմ, որ 6000-ից ավելի երեխա է ինտեգրվել ու գրանցվել, բայց ակնհայտորեն դրանք շատ մեծ թվեր են Հայաստանի նման փոքր երկրի համար»։

Նրա խոսքերով՝  ՅՈՒՆԻՍԵՖ-ը դիտարկում է տարբեր տեսակի աջակցություն: «Անմիջապես առողջապահության նախարարություն ենք փոխանցել հատկապես երեխաների համար նախատեսված դեղերն ու բժշկական պարագաները։ Մենք նաև լրացուցիչ դեղամիջոցներ ենք ձեռք բերում, ինչպես նաև թերսնուցման նշաններ ունեցող երեխաների համար բուժական սնունդ։ Մանկական անկյուններ ենք ստեղծել»։ Բացի այդ, ՅՈՒՆԻՍԵՖ-ը, Հայաստանի կրթության նախարարության հետ համագործակցելով, ուսումնասիրում է ժամանակավոր դասասենյակների, երեխաների համար կացարանների լրացուցիչ տարբերակներ ստեղծելու և ուսուցիչների վերապատրաստման հնարավորությունը, թե ինչպես լավագույնս աշխատել այս երեխաների հետ և ինտեգրել նրանց դպրոցական համակարգում:
