Գերմանիան և Ուկրաինան անվտանգության երկկողմ համաձայնագիր են կնքել։ Գերմանիայի դաշնային կառավարության ներկայացուցչի բնորոշմամբ՝ «անվտանգության երաշխիքների և երկարաժամկետ աջակցության մասին» փաստաթուղթն այսօր Բեռլինում ստորագրել են Գերմանիայի կանցլեր Օլաֆ Շոլցը և Ուկրաինայի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Զելենսկին։ Անցած ամիս Ուկրաինան անվտանգության երաշխիքների մասին համաձայնագիր էր կնքել նաև Մեծ Բրիտանիայի հետ, որն ուժի մեջ կլինի մինչև Ուկրաինայի՝ ՆԱՏՕ-ին միանալը։ Հունվարի 17-ին Ֆրանսիայի նախագահ Էմանուել Մակրոնն էլ հայտարարել է, որ Փարիզը ևս մտադիր է անվտանգության երաշխիքների մասին երկկողմ համաձայնագիր ստորագրել Կիևի հետ։ Մակրոնը հայտարարել էր նաև Ուկրաինային զենքի նոր մատակարարումների մասին։

Սակայն, ուշագրավ է, որ Գերմանիայի և Ֆրանսիայի անվտանգության երաշխիքները ենթադրում են ոչ թե Ուկրաինային տրամադրվող ռազմական օգնություն, այլ ընդամենը ֆինանսական և տեխնիկական օժանդակություն:  Սա նշանակում է, որ Արևմուտքը ակնհայտ մեսիջ է հղում Ուկրաինային, որ չի պատրաստվում պատերազմել Ուկրաինայի փոխարեն և կարող է առաջարկել միայն տնտեսության զարգացման ծրագրեր և տեխնիկական աջակցություն, սակայն պատերազմել Ուկրաինայի փոխարեն և Ուկրաինայի համար՝ չի պատրաստվում: Անշուշտ, սա բավական լուրջ դաս է ՀՀ իշխանություններին և անձամբ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանին, ով շարունակում է հույսը կապել Արևմուտքից անկնալվող անվտանգության երաշխիքների և հատկապես՝  խաղաղության պայմանագրի երաշխավոր դառնալու հետ: ՀՀ բարձրաստիճան պաշտոնյաները բազմիցս հայտարարել են, որ Հայաստանը ցանկանում է հայ-ադրբեջանական խաղաղության պայմանագրում ներդրված լինի երաշխավորի ինստիտուտ։ Մի շարք լրատվամիջոցներ դիմել էին ՀՀ-ում ԱՄՆ դեսպանատուն՝ փորձելով պարզել, թե ի՞նչ դիրքորուշում ունի Միացյալ նահանգներն այս հարցի վերաբերյալ և արդյոք պատրաստ է ստանձնել խաղաղության պայմանագրի երաշխավորի դերը։ Սակայն, ՀՀ-ում ԱՄՆ դեսպանատունը ակնհայտ ցրողական պատասխան է տվել՝ նշելով․  «Միացյալ Նահանգները շարունակում է հանձնառու մնալ Հարավային Կովկասի տարածաշրջանի խաղաղ, ժողովրդավար և բարեկեցիկ ապագայի խթանմանը։ Ուղղակի երկխոսությունն առանցքային է խնդիրների կարգավ որման և տևական խաղաղության հասնելու համար։ Մենք շարունակում ենք ներգրավվել երկկողմ ձևաչափով, գործընկերների հետ և բազմակողմ կազմակերպությունների շրջանակում՝ նպաստելու Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի միջև քննարկումներին, որպեսզի այս երկրները հասնեն տևական, կայուն ու ամուր խաղաղության։ Հակամարտությունը չի կարող ռազմական լուծում ունենալ, իսկ վեճերի լուծումն ուժի կիրառման միջոցով անընդունելի է»։

Ինչպես տեսնում ենք՝ ԱՄՆ-ն և արևմտյան մյուս տերությունները բնավ էլ չեն շտապում Հայաստանին անվտանգության երաշխիքներ տրամադրելու հարցում, իսկ տրամադրելու դեպքում էլ դրանք քիչ բանով են տարբերվելու այն երաշխիքներից, որոնք Արևմուտքը տրամադրում է Ուկրաինային: Եվ սա մի դեպքում, երբ Արևմուտքի գեղեցիկ խոստումներին հավատալու արդյունքում Ուկրաինան կորցրել է իր տարածքի մի զգալի մասը, և դեռ կանգնած  է նոր տարածքներ կորցնելու ռեալ վտանգի առջև:
