«Ժողովուրդ» օրաթերթը գրում է․ «2018թ․ ապրիլի 14-ին «Իմ քայլը» շարժումը, Հանրային ռադիոյի շենքը գրավելուց հետո, երթ էր անում Խանջյան փողոցով։ Հայաստանի ֆուտբոլի ֆեդերացիա հասնելով՝ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը հայտարարեց. «Ռուբեն Հայրապետյան, դու ձախողել ես հայկական ֆուտբոլի զարգացումը, հեռացիր քո խոստմանը համաձայն: Ես ավելի լավ ֆուտբոլ եմ խաղում, քան՝ Ռուբեն Հայրապետյանի ստեղծած հավաքականը»:

Սակայն իրականում Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը ոչ միայն վատ ֆուտբոլ է խաղում, այլեւ՝ ֆուտբոլը գահավիժել է Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի իշխանության օրոք: Իհարկե, 2018 թվականի հեղափոխությունից հետո Ռուբեն Հայրապետյանը հրաժարական տվեց ՀՖՖ նախագահի պաշտոնից։ Այդ պաշտոնում ընտրվեց ԱԱԾ տնօրեն Արթուր Վանեցյանը։ 2019 թվականին նա եւս հրաժարական տվեց այդ պաշտոնից, ընտրվեց Արմեն Մելիքբեկյանը ու կառավարում է մինչ օրս։ 26․10․2023թ․, ՖԻՖԱ-ն հրապարակեց ֆուտբոլի ազգային հավաքականների դասակարգման աղյուսակը, որով Հայաստանի հավաքականը դարձյալ նահանջել է և այս պահին գտնվում է 94-րդ հորիզոնականում։

Մեր հավաքականի վարկանիշը, կարելի է ասել, գրեթե միշտ եղել է ցածր, բայց Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի՝ այս ելույթը ունենալու ժամանակ գտնվում էր մի քիչ ավելի բարվոք հորիզոնականում․ 18․01․2018թ․ հրապարակած վարկանիշային ցանկով՝ 90-րդում։ Ստացվում է՝ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանն ավելի լավ է ֆուտբոլ խաղում, քան Նիկոլ Փաշինյանենց ստեղծած հավաքականը։
