ՄԱԿ-ի գրասենյակում տեղի է ունեցել «Սևանա լճի ավազանում հողային ռեսուրսների և արժեքավոր էկոհամակարգերի պահպանում և կայուն կառավարում՝ ուղղված բազմակի օգուտների» ՄԱԶԾ-ԳԷՀ ծրագրի մեկնարկային աշխատաժողովը։

Այս հնգամյա ծրագիրը կիրականացվի 2024-2028 թթ․ ընթացքում, ընդգրկելով Գեղարքունիք և Վայոց ձոր մարզերի Մարտունի, Վարդենիս, Շողակաթ, Եղեգիս, Վայք և Ջերմուկ թիրախային համայնքները: 

Ծրագրի նպատակն է Սևանա լճի ավազանի լանդշաֆտներում կենսաբազմազանության պահպանումը՝ հասցեագրելով կենսաբազմազանության կորստի ուղղակի գործոնները, և հողերի դեգրադացիայի նվազեցումը՝ կիրառելով կայուն գյուղատնտեսության և հողօգտագործման մեթոդներ։ Այս միջոցառումները կօգնեն Հայաստանին կատարել Կենսաբազմազանության և Անապատացման դեմ պայքարի կոնվենցիաներով ստանձնած պարտավորությունները։

Միջոցառման մասնակիցներին ողջունել են Շրջակա միջավայրի նախարարի տեղակալ, Կենսաբազմազանության կոնվենցիայի (UNCBD) ազգային համակարգող Արամ Մեյմարյանը, Հայաստանում ՄԱԶԾ մշտական ներկայացուցչի տեղակալ Կոնստանտին Սոկոլսկին։ 

Ծրագրի պատասխանատուները ներկայացրեցին նպատակները, բաղադրիչները, ակնկալվող արդյունքները։ Ծրագիրը կենտրոնանալու է համայնքների վրա՝ շուրջ 68,000 մարդ կլինի ուղղակի շահառու, կխրախուսի կայուն գյուղատնտեսության վարումը, կնպաստի որսագողության նվազեցմանը, կաջակցի էկոհամակարգերի կապակցվածությանն ու էկոմիջանցքների պահպանմանը, կխթանի էկոտուրիզմի զարգացումը։ 

ՄԱԶԾ-ի հսկողության ներքո, ծրագիրը համատեղ իրականացնում են Շրջակա միջավայրի նախարարության բնապահպանական ծրագրերի իրականացման գրասենյակը և Վայրի բնության համաշխարհային հիմնադրամի հայաստանյան գրասենյակը։ Դրամաշնորհային ծրագիրը ֆինանսավորվում է Գլոբալ էկոլոգիական հիմնադրամի կողմից։
