Իրանի արտաքին գործերի նախարարի պաշտոնակատար Ալի Բաղերի Կանին և ՌԴ ԱԳՆ հատուկ ներկայացուցիչ Իգոր Խովաևը Թեհրանում կայացած բանակցություններում քննարկել են իրավիճակը Հարավային Կովկասում և դեմ են արտահայտվել տարածաշրջանի գործերում արտաքին խաղացողների միջամտությանը։ Այս մասին հայտնում է Իսլամական Հանրապետության դիվանագիտական ​​վարչությունը, փոխանցում է ՏԱՍՍ-ը։

Ինչպես նշվում է Իսլամական Հանրապետության արտաքին գործերի նախարարության թելեգրամյան ալիքում հրապարակված հաղորդագրության մեջ, Բաղերի Կանին ասել է, որ «կովկասյան տարածաշրջանի գործերին արտաքին միջամտության աճը պահանջում է ռազմավարական համակարգում և մշտական խորհրդատվություն Իրանի և Ռուսաստանի պաշտոնյաների միջև»:
