Առողջապահության համաշխարհային կազմակերպությունը վերանայել է իր առաջարկությունները դիմակների օգտագործման վերաբերյալ և խրախուսում է, որ դրանք կրեն բոլորը հասարակական տրանսպորտում և խանութներում, հայտարարել է ԱՀԿ-ի գլխավոր տնօրեն Թեդրոս Ադհան Գեբրիեսոսը: Ավելի վաղ, ԱՀԿ-ն հայտարարություն էր տարածել, որ դիմակներ կրելը խորհուրդ է տրվում միայն COVID-19 ունեցող հիվանդների համար:
«Բացահայտված ապացույցների լույսի ներքո ԱՀԿ-ն առաջարկում է կառավարություններին խրախուսել դիմակների օգտագործումը բնակչության կողմից բոլոր այն, որտեղ վիրուսը տարածված է, և սոցիալական հեռավորությունը դժվար է պահպանել, օրինակ՝ հասարակական տրանսպորտում, խանութներում և այլ մարդաշատ վայրերում», - ասաց նա ճեպազրույցի ժամանակ: Վիրուսի ակտիվ տարածում ունեցող տարածքներում ԱՀԿ-ն խորհուրդ է տալիս դիմակների օգտագործումը հատկապես քրոնիկ հիվանդություններով տառապող անձանց և 60 տարեկանից բարձր անձանց համար, որտեղ սոցիալական հեռավորություն պահպանել հնարավոր չէ: ԱՀԿ-ի առաջարկություններում ընդգծվում է, որ վիրուսից արդյունավետ պաշտպանության համար դիմակը պետք է պարունակի առնվազն երեք շերտ գործվածք:
