«Ժողովուրդ» թերթը գրում է․ «Այսօր Սահմանադրական դատարանում տեղի է ունենալու աշխատանքային նիստ, որի ընթացքում էլ ընտրվելու են ՀՀ Սահմանադրական դատարանի նախագահն ու փոխնախագահը։ Ինչպես հայտնի է, սեպտեմբերի 15-ին Ազգային ժողովը որպես Սահմանադրական դատարանի անդամ ընտրեց բոլոր երեք թեկնածուներին՝ Երվանդ Խունդկարյանին, Էդգար Շաթիրյանին եւ Արթուր Վաղարշյանին: Եվ, ահա, երեք դատավորների՝ խորհրդարանում երդվելուց հետո նրանց լիազորությունները մտել են ուժի մեջ, եւ այսօր դատավորներն իրենց միջից պետք է ընտրեն ՍԴ նախագահ:

«Սահմանադրական դատարանի մասին» ՀՀ օրենքի հոդված 19-ը ասում է, որ Սահմանադրական դատարանի կազմից նախագահ կարող է ընտրվել այն թեկնածուն, որը ստացել է դատավորների ընդհանուր թվի ձայների երկու երրորդը, իսկ այն դեպքում, երբ առաջադրվել է մեկ թեկնածու, ապա ընտրվում է դատավորների ընդհանուր թվի ձայների մեծամասնությամբ: Եվ, ահա, այսօր իսկապես բուռն եւ հետաքրքիր օր է սպասվում, քանի որ Սահմանադրական դատարանի անդամներից ոչ բոլորն են կողմ, որ Երվանդ Խունդկարյանը դառնա ՀՀ Սահմանադրական դատարանի նախագահ։

«Ժողովուրդ» օրաթերթի տեղեկություններով՝ Սահմանադրական դատարանում կան դատավորներ, այդ թվում՝ Հրայր Թովմասյանը, Աշոտ Խաչատրյանը, Արայիկ Թունյանը եւ Վահե Գրիգորյանը, որոնք այնքան էլ դրական չեն տրամադրված Երվանդ Խունդկարյանի թեկնածությանը, եւ չի բացառվում՝ դեմ քվեարկեն:

Ավելին՝ երեկվա դրությամբ դեռ պարզ չէր, թե ինչ քայլերի է դիմելու Սահմանադրական դատարանի անդամ Արմեն Դիլանյանը, որը, Վահե Գրիգորյանի սցենարով, պետք է առաջադրվեր։ Արդյոք կինքնաառաջադրվի նա՝ որպես Սահմանադրական դատարանի նախագահի թեկնածու, թե ոչ, կպարզվի այսօր»:
