Kim Kardashian reveals secrets behind her sensational Met Gala look

Kim Kardashian's sensational 2024 Met Gala look in a tight corset required her to practice her breathing before the event.

Kim revealed the secrets of her Met Gala red carpet look in a behind-the-scenes video for Vogue, which shows her struggling to breathe in a tight corset while having her hair styled.

“How is your breathing? How are you?" the voiceover asks, Kardashian replies, “It’s... it’s an art form. But I caught the subtleties.”

The Skims founder explained that she had a "test day" two days before the Met Gala to practice wearing a silver Maison Margiela corset and metallic skirt.

"This is actually my first time doing this," she shared, likening her glam session to "checking out your wedding makeup." “Never done this,” she said, winking at the camera.

Kim says John Galliano's designs have been on her "mood board" for years and it took her years to get Maison Margiela's current creative director to agree to dress her for the Met Gala. "To put it simply, it's been about four or five years that I've been stalking him, trying to see if he would ever create a Met Gala look for me," she admitted.

Kardashian revealed that she would be wearing flat high heels under her Maison Margiela dress.

"It's smart because if I had a heeled shoe, my heel would get stuck in the metal skirt," she said. Kim then showed off a modified pair of clear platform heels that she will be "balancing" on throughout the event.

"So, I'm going to have to wear these, and to wear them you have to stand on your tiptoes and balance with your calf muscles tight the whole time," Kardashian explained.

She walked on tiptoes like a professional ballerina. Kardashian, who is 157.5cm tall, was willing to sacrifice comfort because she felt the look needed "height."

Kim wowed onlookers on Monday night by showing off her incredibly tiny waist in a silver Maison Margiela suit by John Galliano. However, some social media users expressed fears that she would "crush her organs" due to the corset and end up in hospital by the end of the night.
