ՄԱԿ-ի մարդու իրավունքների հարցերով փորձագետները Ժնևում կոչ են արել ազատ արձակել Լեռնային Ղարաբաղում գերեվարված զինվորականներին և քաղաքացիական անձանց, ինչպես նաև վերադարձնել աճյուններն իրենց ընտանիքներին:

«Բոլոր մարդիկ, ովքեր հակամարտության բերումով զրկվել են ազատությունից, պետք է կարողանան տուն վերադառնալ»,- ասվում է փորձագետների համատեղ հայտարարությունում:

ՄԱԿ-ի փորձագետները նախազգուշացնում են, որ անհետ կորածների մասին տեղեկություններ չհայտնելը կամ աճյունների վերադարձը մերժելը կարող է գնահատվել որպես «բռնի անհետացում»:

«Մեզ մտահոգում են հաղորդագրություններն այն մասին, որ գերիները և միջազգային իրավունքի պաշտպանության ներքո գտնվող այլ անձինք բռնի եղանակով անհետանում են, ենթարկվում են արտադատարանական մահապատժի, կտտանքների և այլ տեսակի վատ վերաբերմունքի»,- հայտարարում են փորձագետները:

Նրանք Ադրբեջանի և Հայաստանի իշխանություններին կոչ են անում «մանրակրկիտ, արագ, անկախ և անկողմնակալ եղանակով ստուգել զինված հակամարտության ընթացքում և դրանից հետո մարդու իրավունքների ոտնահարման մասին վկայող հաղորդագրությունները և պատասխանատվության ենթարկել մեղավորներին»:

Այդ հայտարարությունը ստորագրել են ՄԱԿ-ի 7 փորձագետներ, այդ թվում` կտտանքների հարցով հատուկ զեկուցող Նիլս Մելցերը, արտադատարանական մահապատիժների հարցերով հատուկ զեկուցող Ագնես Կալամարը և բռնի անհետացումների հարցերով ՄԱԿ-ի աշխատանքային խմբի անդամները:
