Հանրապետության նախագահ Արմեն Սարգսյանը Հռոմի Սրբազան քահանայապետ ընտրվելու տարեդարձի առթիվ շնորհավորական ուղերձ է հղել Նորին Սրբություն Հռոմի պապ Ֆրանցիսկոսին։ Այս մասին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ նախագահի աշխատակազմի հասարակայնության հետ կապերի վարչությունից:

Նախագահ Սարգսյանի ուղերձում մասնավորապես ասվում է.

«Հայաստանի և Սուրբ Աթոռի միջև հարաբերությունները հիմնված են պատմական կապերի, հոգևոր ու մշակութային մեծ ժառանգության վրա, որոնք ամուր հիմք են երկկողմ օրակարգը հարստացնելու և համագործակցության խորացմանն ուղղված գործնական քայլեր ձեռնարկելու համար։

Վերահաստատում եմ Սուրբ Աթոռի հետ միջպետական կապերն առավել զարգացնելու՝ Հայաստանի շահագրգռվածությունն ու հանձնառությունը։

Երախտապարտ ենք մեզ համար այս ծանր ժամանակաշրջանում Ձերդ Սրբության աղոթքների ու խաղաղության ուղերձների համար, որոնք ջերմացրին մեր սրտերն ու հոգիները։

Մեր մաղթանքն է, որ Տիեզերական եկեղեցին այսուհետ ևս հաջողությամբ իրականացնի իր նվիրական առաքելությունը՝ ի նպաստ աշխարհում խաղաղության և համերաշխության հաստատման»։
