«Հրապարակ» թերթը գրում է. «Պոլիտեխնիկի ռեկտորի պաշտոնում ՀՀԿ-ական փոխնախագահ Արմեն Աշոտյանի սանիկ Գոռ Վարդանյանի ընտրվելու փաստն իշխանությունը երեկ ծանր էր տարել։ Երկուսուկես տարի է՝ իշխանությունը յուրային ռեկտորների փնտրտուքով է զբաղված, բայց` ապարդյուն․ մայր բուհը մինչ օրս ժամանակավոր պաշտոնակատար է ղեկավարում, ժողինստիտուտում երկու տարվա պայքարից հետո ՀԱԿ անդամի դստերը նշանակեցին, իսկ պոլիտեխնիկում չկարողացան հասնել իրենց ուզածին՝ հաղթեց 29-ամյա գիտությունների թեկնածուն։ Չնայած նախկին ռեկտոր Մարուխյանի հրաժարականից՝ 2020-ի ամառվանից, իշխանական ծանր հրետանին ողջ ուժով լծվել էր այս ընտրությունը տապալելու գործին։

Սկզբում ԿԳՄՍ նախարար Արայիկ Հարությունյանը, նրա հրաժարականից հետո Հակոբ Արշակյանն էր համակարգում գործընթացը, սակայն երեկ արձանագրվեց վերջնական պարտություն։ Իշխանությունը մեղքը բարդում է բուհի հոգաբարձուների խորհրդի նախագահ Հովիկ Մուսայելյանի վրա, կարծում են, որ նրա շնորհիվ է նախկինների «աճեցրած» կադրը դարձել ռեկտոր։

Նշենք, որ նախկին բազեական Վարդանյանը 2015-ին՝ Աշոտյանի նախարար եղած ժամանակ է նշանակվել պրոռեկտոր։ Բարձրագույն որակավորման հանձնաժողովի 2017թ․ սեպտեմբերի 1-ի որոշմամբ նրան շնորհվել է տեխնիկական գիտությունների թեկնածուի գիտական աստիճան։ 2020թ․ հունվարի 1-ից նա նաեւ Հայաստանի ազգային պոլիտեխնիկական համալսարանի աշխատակազմի ղեկավարն է։ Ուշագրավ է, որ այս թեկնածուի լոբբինգով է զբաղվել նաեւ «Իմ քայլի» պատգամավոր Սերգեյ Մովսիսյանը, ով մտերիմ է Վարդանյանի հետ»:
