Ապրիլի 1-ին ԱՊՀ ԱԳ նախարարների խորհրդի նիստի շրջանակներում ԱԳ նախարար Արա Այվազյանը հանդիպում ունեցավ Թուրքմենստանի փոխվարչապետ, ԱԳ նախարար Ռաշիդ Մերեդովի հետ: Այս մասին հայտնում են ՀՀ ԱԳՆ-ից:

Արտգործնախարարներն անդրադարձան երկկողմ օրակարգին առնչվող հարցերի լայն շրջանակի: Երկուստեք կարևորվեց փոխգործակցության լավ ավանդույթներ ունեցող միջպետական հարաբերությունների ամրապնդմանը և առկա ներուժի բացահայտմանն ուղղված քայլերի ձեռնարկումը: Այս համատեքստում առանձնահատուկ ընդգծվեց երկու երկրների ԱԳՆ-ների միջև խորհրդակցությունների անցկացման կարևորությունն ու վերջիններիս կանոնավոր բնույթ հաղորդելու պատրաստակամությունը: 

Որպես համագործակցության գերակա ուղղություններ՝ շեշտվեցին առևտրատնտեսական, գիտատեխնիկական, մշակութային-հումանիտար ոլորտները: 

Կողմերը բարձր գնահատեցին միջազգային կառույցների շրջանակներում երկու երկրների միջև հաստատված փոխշահավետ համագործակցությունը: Զրուցակիցները մտքեր փոխանակեցին նաև ԱՊՀ օրակարգային հարցերի շուրջ:

Հանդիպմանն արծարծվեցին միջազգային և տարածաշրջանային օրակարգին առնչվող հրատապ հարցեր: Ընդգծվեց երկու ժողովուրդների համար կարևոր նշանակություն ունեցող պատմական հուշարձանների և մշակութային ժառանգության պահպանումը:
