Եգիպտոսում հայտնաբերվել է սնկային հիվանդության մուկորմիկոզի՝ «սև բորբոսի» յոթ դեպք: Այս մասին հայտարարել է երկրի հյուսիսում գտնվող Զաքազիկ համալսարանի ռեկտոր Օսման Շաալյանը, որի հիվանդանոցային համալիրում բուժվում են այդ հիվանդությունն ունեցող մարդիկ, կիրակի օրը հաղորդել է «Al Ahram»-ը: Ըստ Շաալյանի՝ վարակի բոլոր դեպքերը ախտորոշվել են Շարկիա նահանգում՝ նախորդ հիվանդությունների, այդ թվում` կորոնավիրուսի պատճառով թուլացած իմունիտետ ունեցող բնակիչների մոտ: «Սև բորբոսի» սպորները հանդիպում են հողի, փոշու և օրգանական տարրալուծման արտադրանքներում: Բորբոսն առավել հաճախ մարդու մարմին է մտնում մեխանիկական օդափոխության սարքերի միջոցով: Մասնագետների կարծիքով՝ մուկորմիկոզը ախտորոշվում է կորոնավիրուսային վարակով հիվանդների մոտ, ովքեր գտնվում էին վերակենդանացման բաժանմունքում և երկար ժամանակ ստանում էին հորմոններ կամ թթվածին: Սնկային այս վարակը ազդում է մարդու քթի կոկորդի, աչքերի և թոքերի վրա, իսկ կորոնավիրուսով վարակվածների դեպքում այն ​​առավել հաճախ մահացու է:
