Սուրբ Աթոռում ՀՀ նախկին դեսպան Միքայել Մինասյանն իր տելեգարմյան ալիքում գրում է․

«Երկու օր առաջ Ռուսաստանի արտգործնախարար Լավրովը հայտարարեց. «Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի կարգավիճակը դեռ պետք է լուծվի, բայց դրա համար ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խումբը պետք է ապահովի  հայերի և ադրբեջանցիների կողք կողքի ապրելը: Մի երկու-երեք տարի հետո, եթե մենք նման կյանք ապահովենք, կարգավիճակի հետ կապված բոլոր խնդիրները շատ ավելի հեշտ կլուծվեն»: Խնդրում ենք նկատի ունենալ, որ այդքան բարձր մակարդակի վրա Արցախի ապագա կարգավիճակի հարցը բարձրացվում է պատերազմից հետո առաջին անգամ: Բայց ահա թե ինչն է կարևոր. Թուրքիան, Ադրբեջանը և Հայաստանը ոչ մի կերպ չեն մեկնաբանել այս հայտարարությունը: Դրանից կարելի է երկու եզրակացություն անել. Առաջին ՝ կան որոշ պայմանավորվածություններ, որոնցում Նիկոլը, որպես բանակցություններում «հոգեկան» հիվանդ անձ, չունի սուբյեկտայնություն, և երկրորդ ՝ Լավրովը ցույց է տալիս, որ Արցախի կարգավիճակի համար կա հնարավորությունների պատուհան:

Այստեղ կարևոր է հասկանալ, ինչպես Լավրովի կողմից այս թեզը բարձրաձայնելու համար ընտրված ժամանակը, այնպես էլ հայկական կողմից արձագանքի բացակայությունը շեշտում են, որ այս որոշումը չի ենթադրում Նիկոլի մասնակցությունը դրա մշակմանը: Սա Հայաստանի ապագա կառավարությանը ավանսն է:

Մինչդեռ Նիկոլը, փոխվարչապետ Մհեր Գրիգորյանի և պաշտպանության նախարար Վաղարշակ Հարությունյանի միջոցով, մոտ է Ալիևի հետ վերջնական համաձայնագրին՝ ընտրություններից մի քանի օր առաջ Հայաստանի ինքնիշխան տարածքից ադրբեջանական զորքերը դուրս բերելու մասին: Փաստարկները, որոնք նա բարձրաձայնել է բանակցությունների ընթացքում, հետևյալն են. Հայաստանի ցանկացած այլ կառավարություն կստիպի ձեզ հետ կանչել զորքերը միջազգային ճնշման ներքո, և ինձ որպես գործընկեր պահելով՝ դուք կստանաք քարտ բլանշ՝ ընտրություններից հետո ստորագրելու ցանկացած փաստաթուղթ և կատարելու բոլոր բանավոր համաձայնությունները, որոնք դուրս են նոյեմբերի 9-ի համաձայնագրից»:
