Չինական Վուհան քաղաքի գիտնականները, որտեղ գրանցվել է COVID-19- ի առաջին բռնկումը, նախատեսում էին քարանձավաբնակ չղջիկներին վարակել կորոնավիրուսոով դեռևս 2018 թվականին, պնդում է Telegraph թերթը՝ վկայակոչելով հետազոտողների կողմից քննված փաստաթղթերը:

Ինչպես նշում է թերթը, գիտնականները ծրագրի համար 14 միլիոն դոլարի հարցում են ներկայացրել առնվազն 18 ամիս առաջ՝ COVID-19-ի բռնկման պաշտոնական հաղորդագրություններից: Ենթադրաբար, Վուհանի գիտնականները մտադիր էին փոփոխված օդակաթիլային կորոնավիրուսներ մտցնել Չինաստանի չղջիկների բնակավայրեր, որպեսզի դրանք պաշտպանվեն մարդկանց փոխանցվող հիվանդություններից:

Չինացի գիտնականներին մերժել են նման ծրագրի ֆինանսավորումը, քանի որ այն «կարող էր վտանգի տակ դնել տեղի բնակիչներին»՝ չնայած այն բանին, որ հետազոտողները խոստացել էին կրթական միջոցառումներ անցկացնել իրենց աշխատանքի վերաբերյալ` հասկանալու համար, թե ինչ է կատարվում բնակչության հետ:

Պարբերականը նշում է, որ ըստ փաստաթղթերի՝ նման հետազոտությանը կարող էին մասնակցել բրիտանացի և ամերիկացի փորձագետ Փիթեր Դասակը, ինչպես նաև Վուհանի վիրուսաբանության ինստիտուտի առաջատար վիրուսաբաններից Շի Ջենգլին:

Ավելի վաղ ՉԺՀ-ում, Վուանի լաբորատորիայում COVID-19-ի ստեղծման մասին տեսությունները բազմիցս հերքվել էին: Չինաստանի իշխանությունները նաև բազմիցս հայտարարել են, որ ի սկզբանե հավատարիմ են մնացել բաց և պատասխանատու դիրքորոշմանը՝ կապված կորոնավիրուսային վարակի համաճարակի վերաբերյալ տվյալների հրապարակման հետ:
