Հռիփսիմե Խուրշուդյանը 6 տարվա դադարից հետո 5-րդ տեղը գրավեց Եվրոպայի առաջնությունում: Ալբանիայում անցկացվող ծանրամարտ Եվրոպայի առաջնությունում կանանց 87 կգ քաշայինների պայքարում անվանի ծանրորդուհին երկամարտում գրանցեց 227 կգ արդյունք (105+122):

Պոկում վարժությունում 2016 թվականի Եվրոպայի չեմպիոնը պայքարը սկսեց 102 կգ-ով եւ հաջողությամբ ֆիքսեց ծանրաձողը գլխավերեւում: Երկրորդ մոտեցմամբ Խուրշուդյանը պոկեց 105 կգ: Երրորդ մոտեցման համար Արտաշես Ներսիսյանը պատվիրեց 108 կգ, բայց ծսնրորդուհին չկարողացավ բարձրացնել ծանրաձողը: Այս վարժությունում Հռիփսիմե Խուրշուդյանը մնաց առանց փոքր մեդալի՝ զբաղեցնելով  4-րդ տեղը:

Հրում վարժությունը Խուրշուդյանը սկսեց 122 կգ-ով, բայց առաջին մոտեցումը ձախողեց: Երկրորդ մոտեցմամբ դժվարությամբ, բայց կարողացավ հրել 122 կգ-ն: Երրորդ մոտեցման համար Հայաստանի հավաքականի մարզիչները պատվիրեցին 127 կգ, որպեսզի Խուրշուդյանը մեդալի համար պայքարի, բայց 5 կգ քայլը Հռիփսիմե Խուրշուդյանի ուժերից վեր էր:
