Կիպրոսում Հայաստանի Հանրապետության արտակարգ և լիազոր դեսպան Տիգրան Մկրտչյանը Նիկոսիայում (նստավայրը՝ Աթենք) հանդիպել է Կիպրոսի Հանրապետության նախագահի հումանիտար և սփյուռքի հարցերով հանձնակատար Ֆոտիս Ֆոտիույի հետ: Այս մասին «Ֆեյսբուք»-ի իր էջում տեղեկացրել է Հունաստանում Հայաստանի դեսպանությունը։

«Ողջունելով Ֆոտիս Ֆոտիույին` դեսպան Մկրտչյանն անդրադարձել է երկու երկրների միջև եղբայրական ու երկարամյա հարաբերություններին` նշելով, որ երկու ժողովուրդներին միավորում են ընդհանուր պատմությունը, արժեհամակարգը, մարտահրավերները:

Դեսպանն ընդգծել է երկու երկրների միջև Սփյուռքին վերաբերվող հարցերի շուրջ համագործակցությունը` կարևորելով ինչպես Հայաստան-Կիպրոս երկկողմ, այնպես էլ` Հայաստան-Կիպրոս-Հունաստան եռակողմ ձևաչափով համագործակցությունը։ Դեսպան Մկրտչյանը շեշտել է նաև ս.թ. հունիսի 24-ին Հունաստանի Պատրա քաղաքում ստորագրված եռակողմ ձևաչափով համագործակցության հուշագրի կարևորությունը և դրանում ներառված դրույթների հետևողականորեն կյանքի կոչման անհրաժեշտությունը»,- ասվում է հաղորդագրության մեջ:

Ըստ աղբյուրի՝ կիպրացի պաշտոնյան նշել է, որ երեք երկրները աշխարհի տարբեր անկյուններում ունեն բավականին գործուն ու ակտիվ համայնքներ` յուրաքանչյուրը լիովին ինտեգրված իրենց բնակության երկրներում` կազմակերպված կառույցներով` հավելելով, որ չափազանց կարևոր է օգտագործել սփյուռքի առկա ներուժը ընդհանուր օրակարգերը ներկայացնելու, ընդհանուր նպատակները և շահերը կյանքի կոչելու գործում:

Նշվում է, որ հանդիպման ընթացքում դեսպան Մկրտչյանն առանձնահատուկ ընդգծել է կիպրահայ համայնքի դերակատարությունը հայ-կիպրական հարաբերություններին խթանելու և դրանք էլ ավելի ամրապնդելու գործում: Այդ համատեքստում դեսպան Մկրտչյանը կարևորել է հանդիպմանը ներկա Կիպրոսի ներկայացուցիչների պալատում կիպրահայ համայնքի պետական ներկայացուցիչ Վարդգես Մահտեսյանի անգնահատելի դերակատարությունն ու ավանդը այդ հարցում:
