The Anglo-Kuwaiti Newsletter-ը Ադրբեջանի Հանրապետությունն ապագա չունի վերնագրով հոդված է հրապարակել, որում ասվում է․

«Իլհամ Ալիևը քաջ գիտակցում է, որ իր վարած քաղաքականությունը վնասում է Ադրբեջանի ապագային, բայց չի կարողանում փոխել քաղաքականությունը, քանի որ այլևս չի վերահսկում իր երկրի ճակատագիրը։ Այսինքն՝ Ալիեւը Ադրբեջանի ինքնիշխանությունը հանձնել է օտար ուժերին՝ երկրի վրա իր անվանական իշխանությունը պահպանելու դիմաց։

Տարիների ընթացքում Ադրբեջանը աստիճանաբար զիջել է իր ինքնիշխանությունը Թուրքիային, Իսրայելին և Ռուսաստանին։ Բայց մինչ թուրքերն ու իսրայելցիներն ավելի անամոթ կերպով են հայտարարում Ադրբեջանում իրենց ազդեցության չափի մասին, ռուսները գերադասում են շատ ավելի հանգիստ դեր խաղալ Իլհամ Ալիևի տիրույթում:

Շատերը մեղադրում են Թուրքիային 2020 թվականի սեպտեմբերին Ադրբեջանին  Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի/Արցախի վիճելի տարածքում քրիստոնյա հայերի դեմ ագրեսիվ պատերազմ սկսելու մեջ դրդելու մեջ։ Բայց շատ քչերը գիտեն, թե Ռուսաստանը ինչ դեր է խաղացել այս պատերազմն սկսելու գործում՝ պատժելու Հայաստանին արևմտամետ վարչապետ ընտրելու համար և ռուսներին տալով այն պատրվակը, որն անհրաժեշտ էր զորք մտցնելու համար Լեռնային Ղարաբաղ: 2020-ին հայերի դեմ Իլհամ Ալիևի պատերազմն էր, որ թույլ տվեց ռուսական բանակին մտնել Լեռնային Ղարաբաղ։

Քանի որ Իլհամ Ալիևը կախված է Ռուսաստանի, Թուրքիայի և Իսրայելի օգնությունից՝ իրեն իշխանության ղեկին պահելու համար, Ադրբեջանի կառավարությունը ստիպված է պարել բոլոր երեք երկրների հնչյունների ներքո։ Իսրայելցիներին հաճոյանալու համար, որ օգնեցին իրեն մնալ իշխանության ղեկին, Ալիևը ստիպված է թշնամական դիրքորոշում ընդունել Իրանի նկատմամբ։ Ռուսներին և թուրքերին հաճոյանալու համար Ալիևը պետք է շարունակի իր կատաղի ագրեսիան Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի և Հայաստանի հայերի դեմ։

Մինչ և՛ Ռուսաստանը, և՛ Թուրքիան ցանկանում են, որ Ալիևը շարունակի թշնամաբար տրամադրված մնալ հայերի նկատմամբ, երկու երկրներն ունեն տարբեր նպատակներ: Մինչ ռուսները Իլհամ Ալիևին օգտագործում են որպես զենք հայերի դեմ՝ Հայաստանին վերադարձնելու Ռուսաստանի ուղեծիր, Թուրքիայում երազում են Հայաստանը միացնել Ադրբեջանին, ինչը ճանապարհ կհարթի պանթյուրքիստական ​​գերտերության ստեղծման համար, որը կձգվի Միջերկրական ծովից մինչև Չինական մեծ պարիսպ։

Իլհամ Ալիեւը հայտնվել է անելանելի վիճակում։ Եթե ​​նա շարունակի հանդարտեցնել Թուրքիայի, Ռուսաստանի ու Իսրայելի իր օտարերկրյա հովանավորներին, ապա իր երկիրը կվերածի ավերակների կույտի։ Հրաժարվելու դեպքում կկորցնի նրանց դիվանագիտական ​​ու ֆինանսական աջակցությունը և, ամենայն հավանականությամբ, ժողովրդական ընդվզման արդյունքում կտապալվի սեփական ժողովրդի կողմից։ Երկու դեպքում էլ Ալիևի համար հեշտ ելք չկա։

Այստեղ դասն այն է, որ ցանկացած կառավարիչ, ով հրաժարվում է իր երկրի ինքնիշխանությունից՝ իշխանությունը պահելու համար, վերջիվերջո կկործանի և՛ իրեն, և՛ իր երկիրը: Հաջողակ կառավարիչը նա է, ով իշխանությունը պահպանելու համար ապավինում է ժողովրդի աջակցությանը, այլ ոչ թե հույսը դնում արտաքին աջակցության վրա»:
