Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոս Գարեգին Երկրորդը խստորեն դատապարտել է Մոսկվայի և Համայն Ռուսիո պատրիարք Կիրիլի դեմ մի շարք երկրների կողմից կիրառված պատժամիջոցները, ինչպես նաև նշել է Ռուսաստանի, Հայաստանի և Ադրբեջանի հոգևոր առաջնորդների եռակողմ համագործակցության կարևորությունը տարածաշրջանում խաղաղության հաստատման համար։ Այդ մասին չորեքշաբթի ՏԱՍՍ-ին հայտնել է միտրոպոլիտ Կլինսկի Լեոնիդը։ 

«Գարեգին կաթողիկոսն իր կտրուկ բացասական կարծիքն է հայտնել Վեհափառ Հայրապետ Կիրիլի նկատմամբ կիրառված պատժամիջոցների վերաբերյալ (պատրիարքի նկատմամբ սահմանափակումներ են մտցվել Մեծ Բրիտանիայի, Կանադայի և Ավստրալիայի կողմից - նշում է ՏԱՍՍ-ը)։ Հայ Առաքելական և Ռուս Ուղղափառ եկեղեցիների երկարամյա լավ, եղբայրական հարաբերություններն անփոփոխ են»,- ասել է մետրոպոլիտ Լեոնիդը։

Նրա խոսքով՝ Գարեգին Բ-ի հետ բանակցությունների ընթացքում բարձրացվել են երկկողմ հարաբերությունների հետ կապված հարցեր։ Հոգևոր առաջնորդները քննարկել են նաև համագործակցության եռակողմ ձևաչափը։ Ավելի վաղ Պատրիարք Կիրիլը, Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոս Գարեգին Երկրորդը և Կովկասի մահմեդականների գրասենյակի ղեկավար Ալլահշուքյուր Փաշազադեն բազմիցս հանդիպել էին։ Երեք երկրների հոգեւոր առաջնորդները, ի թիվս այլ հարցերի, քննարկել էին Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի կարգավորման հարցը։

«Եռակողմ համագործակցությունը նպաստում է երկրների և ժողովուրդների միջև փոխադարձ հարգալից հարաբերությունների հաստատմանը: Վեհափառ Հայրապետի [Պատրիարք Կիրիլի] անձնական հսկողության ներքո լուծվեց Դադիվանքի մշակութային ժառանգության պահպանման հարցը, ինչի մասին առանձին նշել է Գարեգին կաթողիկոսը»,- ասել է մետրոպոլիտ Լեոնիդը։
