Իր ընդդիմադիր քաղաքական գործունեության տարիներին Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի քննադատության հիմնական թիրախներից էին ՀՀ իշխանությունների գործուղումներն ու արտասահմանյան այցերը։ Հիմնական շեշտադրումն այն էր, որ «պետության հաշվին ծախսված միլիոններն իրենց նպատակին չեն ծառայում», և «իշխանությունների գործուղումներն անպտուղ ու անարդյունավետ են»։ Փաշինյանն այդ օրերին ամբոխահաճո ճառեր էր ասում և հայտարարում, որ դրանք «զրո արժեք ունեցող» այցեր են։ 

Փորձենք հասկանալ, թե ինչ արդյունքներ են գրանցվել արդեն վարչապետի պաշտոնում չորս տարի կառավարող Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի գործուղումների արդյունքում։ Այսպիսով, ՀՀ ռազմավարական դաշնակից և հիմնական գործընկեր Ռուսաստանի ուղղությամբ ուշադիր հետևելով՝ ունենում ենք հետևյալ պատկերը․ ըստ էության, Փաշինյանի կառավարությունը ՀՀ բոլոր կառավարություններից ամենառուսամոլն է, քանի որ առիթը բաց չի թողնում «վազել» Մոսկվա և իր հերթական «սիրո ու հավատարմության» խոստումը հղել ՌԴ իշխանություններին։ Հավելենք, որ իր թվով 12 այցերի ընթացքում Փաշինյանը ՌԴ-ում չի ունեցել ոչ մի պետական այց: 

Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը չորս տարվա ընթացքում ունեցել է 60 արտասահմանյան այց: Նա հասցրել է այցելել ԱՄՆ,ՌԴ, Ֆրանսիա, Իտալիա, ԲԵլգիա, Վրաստան, Իրան, Ղազախստան, Ղրղզստան, Տաջիկստան, Սինգապուր, Չինաստան, Վիետնամ, Բրյուսել, Լյուքսեմբուրջ, Գերմանիա և այլ երկրներ: Իսկ այժմ դիտարկենք, թե այդ այցերի ընթացքում քանի կարևոր համաձայնագիր, փաստաթուղթ է ստորագրել Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը: Թերևս երկու: Առաջինը Իրանում հաստատվել էր Իրան-Հայաստան 400 կՎ լարման էլեկտրահաղորդման 3-րդ գծի կառուցման ծրագիրը և վերջերս, շաբաթներ առաջ Մոսկվա կատարած պաշտոնական այցի ընթացքում ստորագրվել էր փաստաթղթերի մի ամբողջ փաթեթ: Մնացած բոլոր այցերի ընթացքում Փաշինյանի առօրյան շարքային զբոսաշրջիկի առօրյա է հիշեցնում՝ հյուրասիրություն, համերգներ, ցուցահանդեսներ:

Փաստ է, որ Նիկոլը ոչ միայն արտաքին ճակատում ոչնչով չի փայլում, այլև՝ ամբողջովին ձախողել է ՀՀ արտաքին քաղաքականությունը և գործընկեր պետությունների հետ ունեցած հարաբերությունները հասցրել բավականին ցածր մակարդակի:
