Newspaper: Armenia officially starts supplying Ukraine with Soviet-made weapons?
ԱշխարհPast daily of Armenia writes as follows, in particular: The news, which appeared on information platforms that as if Armenia has officially started supplying Ukraine with Soviet-made weapons, has caused quite a stir.
In particular, it is noted as if that an agreement was signed between the government of the Republic of Armenia and the European Commission, according to which Armenia will transfer Soviet-made tanks and air defense missiles to Europe through the port of Georgia, the total cost of which will be 210 million US dollars. Moreover, they say as if Yerevan will transfer its existing air defense systems and 152mm artillery to Kyiv.
This information has become an occasion to make accusations not only against Armenia’s authorities, but also against Armenia and Armenians.
It is obvious that [Armenian PM] Nikol Pashinyan has been "flirting" with Kyiv during these years, despite the fact that, according to various reports, Ukraine sold phosphorous weapons to Azerbaijan during the 44-day war [in Nagorno-Karabakh in 2020]. But the thing is that there is no evidence, no argument in terms of the abovementioned information regarding arms sales to Ukraine.
In that case, who benefits from throwing such information into the arena? It is not in Russia's interest to worsen the already deteriorating relations with Armenia.
It turns out, first of all, it can be beneficial to the West, whose main goal is to ruin Armenian-Russian relations to the end by whatever means. Even more so, if we pay attention [to the fact] that special emphasis is also placed on Georgia, where the West has been trying to destabilize the situation for a long time. That is, after the considerable weakening of the positions in the South Caucasus, the West switches to other methods.
