Հոկտեմբերի 21-ին Ն․Ս․ Ֆրանցիսկոսն Առաքելական պալատում ընդունել է դեսպան Կարեն Նազարյանին՝ Սուրբ Աթոռում իր դիվանագիտական առաքելության ավարտի կապակցությամբ։ Այս մասին հայտնում են Սուրբ Աթոռում Հայաստանի դեսպանությունից:

Հրաժեշտի հանդիպմանը զրուցակիցներն անդրադարձել են Ադրբեջանի էթնիկ զտման քաղաքականության հետևանքով արցախահայության բռնի տեղահանման խնդիրներին։ ՀՀ դեսպանը վստահություն է հայտնել, որ Նորին Սրբության ուշադրության կիզակետում կմնան տարածաշրջանի անվտանգության և Լեռնային Ղարաբաղում հայ ժողովրդի հոգևոր-մշակութային ժառանգության պաշտպանության հարցերը։ Հռոմի պապն իր հերթին կարևորել է եկեղեցիների ու աղոթատեղիների պաշտպանության հարցերն ու նաև հույս հայտնել, որ դեսպանի ապագա գործունեության համար օգտակար կլինի քահանայապետական դիվանագիտության շփումների յուրահատուկ և հարուստ փորձառությունը։

Ավելի վաղ` հոկտեմբերի 16-ին, տեղի է ունեցել նաև ՀՀ դեսպանի հանդիպումը Մալթայի Ինքնիշխան Ռազմական Ուխտի Արքայազն ու Մեծ Վարպետ Ֆրա՛ Ջոն Դանլեփի հետ: Քննարկմանը հետևած հրաժեշտի արարողությանը, որին ներկա էր նաև Մալթայի Ուխտի Մեծ կանցլերը, արտաքին գործերի դեպարտամենտի և ՀՀ դեսպանության աշխատակիցները, Ֆրա՛ Ջոն Դանլեփը դեսպան Նազարյանին պարգևատրել է Մալթայի Ուխտի՝ արժանիքների համար Մեծ խաչով՝ «․․․ հաշվի առնելով վերջին տարիներին երկկողմ հարաբերությունների զարգացման հարցում դեսպանի ունեցած նշանակալի ավանդը»։

Վատիկանում ՀՀ դեսպանի գործունեությունը բարձր գնահատականի է արժանացել նաև Տանն Կիլիիո Կաթողիկե Հայոց կաթողիկոս պատրիարքի կողմից։ Հոկտեմբերի 14-ին Հռոմի Լևոնյան հայ վարժարանում կայացած արարողությանն Ա․Գ․Տ․Տ․ Ռաֆայել Պետրոս XXI-ը Կ․ Նազարյանին է հանձնել «Ս․ Գրիգոր Լուսավորիչ» շքանշանը` իր հրամանագրում մասնավորապես ընդգծելով, որ դեսպանի «․․․ պատրաստակամ համագործակցության շնորհիվ մեր փոխհարաբերությունները և համագործակցությունը ծառայեցին ի սպաս Մայր հայրենիքին և հավատավոր մեր հայ ժողովրդին»։

Վերը նշված հանդիպումներին Կարեն Նազարյանը երախտագիտություն է հայտնել անցնող ժամանակաշրջանում դեսպանության հանդեպ ուշադրության և աջակցության համար, հույս հայտնելով, որ ՀՀ նորանշանակ դեսպանին ևս կընձեռնվեն համագործակցության լայն հնարավորություններ՝ երկկողմ հարաբերոթյունների շարունակական զարգացման ուղղությամբ արդյունավետ գործելու համար։
