Yerevan took part in the 5th General Assembly of Asian Mayors ForumArmenia
The 5th General Assembly of Asian Mayors Forum (Executive Board of AMF) took place in Tehran and Qazvin cities of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Delegations of 54 cities of 17 countries were present at the Forum about 20 of which were headed by mayors, and 8 delegations of international organisations. Yerevan city was represented by deputy head of the Department of Foreign Relations of Municipality Tigran Astvatsatryan.
Greeting the participants of the Forum the founder president of Asian Mayors Forum, Mayor of Tehran Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stressed the importance of sustainable development of all countries and nations of the Asian region, as well as the necessity of cooperation for the sake of peace and progress in the region which is the goal of the Forum. The heads of the delegations also participated in the meeting with the Mayor of Tehran out of the Forum. The agenda of the Forum included discussions concerning different spheres: urban development, ways of development and other subjects. During the meeting familiarisation tours in technological and cultural spheres were organised: the delegations familiarised themselves with the programs and projects implemented and to be implemented in Tehran and Qazvin cities.
