3 Armenian deputies elected for Turkish Majlis

3 Armenian MPs representing 3 leading political parties will be included in the 26th convocation of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. “Armenpress” reports the information basing on the preliminary results of the election. 2 Armenian candidates have been
elected from the second electoral district of Istanbul: journalist Markar Yesayan from "Justice and Development" party (AKP) and first woman MP, lawyer Selina Doğan nominated by the Kemalist Republican People's Party.
Garo Paylan, one of the most active Armenian politicians of Istanbul nominated by Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) was elected from
the third electoral district of Istanbul.
So, the Turkish Majlis will have 3 Armenian deputies for the 26th convocation as it had during the 25th.
Turkey’s Justice and Development (AK) Party won in Sunday's general election. With 99.58 percent of votes counted, the AK Party led with 49.41 percent votes (316 seats), followed by the Republican People's Party (CHP) on 25.38 percent (134 seats). The Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) got 11.93 percent votes (41 seats) while the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) secured 10.7 percent (59 seats).
