Stepanakert Airport will Realize Flights Soon

Rector of Yerevan State University of Architecture and Construction Hovhannes Toqmajyan in today’s press conference spoke about the newly built airport in Stepanakert and considered it an original facility not only due to the style of the building, which resembles a hawk, but also with its engineering solutions. The speaker stated that two mountains have been smoothed for the construction of the airport for the purpose of not passing the border with Azerbaijan to realize the flight.
This program is unprecedented for the civil aviation, as far as such equipment is placed in the airport, that controls the flight beginning from a few kilometers and brings the plane to the runway from height of 15 kilometers. There are all the necessary conditions to realize serious flights moreover, there are plans of constructing new buildings.
Toqmajyan stated, that head of RNK Civil Aviation Department Dmitri Adbashyan yesterday announced that the first flights will be realized in a few weeks. The airport has been designed by YSUAC, author of the design is Professor Tigran Barseghyan, and was constructed by head of Union of Constructors of Armenia Chairman Gagik Galstyan.
