Lavrov and Araghchi discussed situation in South Caucasus

Russian and Iranian Foreign Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Abbas Araghchi met in New York within the framework of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.

 

"There was a thorough exchange of views on urgent international and regional issues, including the situation surrounding the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on Iran's nuclear program, the situation in the South Caucasus and the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone. The mutual interest in maintaining the current high level of foreign political coordination was emphasized," said the message of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

 

It is noted that the ministers confirmed the immutability of the path of building a strategic partnership between Russia and Iran and the commitment to the implementation of all previously agreed joint projects. Lavrov and Araghchi agreed on the schedule of upcoming contacts at the highest and highest levels. Lavrov invited his Iranian colleague to Moscow again.
