Armenia interior ministry spox: Report on Azerbaijani saboteur’s arrest in downtown Yerevan is false
ArmeniaThe information disseminated on social media that an Azerbaijani saboteur was arrested in downtown Yerevan does not correspond to reality.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia, Narek Sargsyan, told Armenpress that on Monday, around 11:25pm, the police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained a Russian citizen at a downtown Yerevan intersection and took him to the police station on suspicion of possession and use of drugs.
"No drugs were found in his possession. It was found that he is in Armenia for tourism purposes. He was released," Sargsyan added.
Earlier, a video was disseminated on Telegram, the author of which claimed that the person detained in downtown Yerevan is an Azerbaijani saboteur.
