New documentary about Celine Dion to explore her rare disease
BlogosphereCeline Dion has made every effort to "continue performing in front of her beloved and loyal fans" after being diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome (SPS).
According to the synopsis of the new documentary about her life, the "intimate" project "takes viewers on a journey into Celine's past and present as she talks about her struggles with SPS and how much she had to go through to continue performing."
The documentary is an "emotional, energetic and poetic love letter to music" that "spans over a year of filming," according to a press release for the documentary.
After sharing her diagnosis, the singer canceled all concerts of her world tour for 2023 and 2024. “Although we are still learning about this rare disease, we now know that it is what is causing all of my cramps,” she said in an Instagram video at the time. “Unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulty walking and preventing me from using my vocal cords to sing the way I’m used to.”
