Սրբազան Հայրը խորապես մտահոգություն է հայտնել Մերձավոր Արևելքում տիրող իրավիճակով և Գազայի հատվածից և Իսրայելից այլ երկրներ հակամարտության տարածման վտանգով։ Հռոմի պապ Ֆրանցիսկոսը հույս է հայտնել, որ այս հակամարտությունը, որն արդեն «առանձնապես դաժան և արյունալի է, ավելի չի ընդլայնվի»։

Հռոմի Ֆրանցիսկոս պապը կոչ է արել «քաջություն ունենալ և վերսկսել երկխոսությունը՝ անմիջապես դադարեցնելու մարտերը Գազայում և բոլոր ճակատներում, ազատ արձակել պատանդներին» և մարդասիրական օգնություն ցուցաբերել բնակչությանը։
