Kaká will not play in the Confederations Cup
Sport
Brazil manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has left Ronaldinho and Kaká out of the Confederations Cup in June and called up Neymar, Lucas Moura, Fred and Oscar as the big stars. Amongst other surprises, it is also worth noting the presence of two midfielders: Jadson, who plays for São Paulo, and Bernard, who has been a revelation for Atlético Mineiro.
In addition to Neymar, Fred and Oscar, Felipão's strike force also features Hulk, the FC Zenit Saint Petersburg forward, and Leandro Damião, who plays for Sport Club Internacional in Porto Alegre. Other notable absences, aside from those mentioned above, are Corinthians striker Alexandre Pato and Chelsea midfielder Ramires.
La Liga players who made the cut were Real Madrid left back Marcelo, Atlético de Madrid's Filipe Luis and Barcelona's Daniel Alves. Brazil will kick off its Confederations Cup bid against Japan, in the opening game to be played on 15th June in Brasilia. It plays Mexico in Fortaleza four days later, and its final Group A game is against Italy in Salvador on the 22nd.
