Earthquake hits Turkey

An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale occurred in Bilek area of Mus on Wednesday, Hurriyet newspaper said today.
According to the report, there is no information on casualties or damage.
Turkey is located in a seismically active area where earthquakes often occur. The strongest fluctuations in the earth's crust in the country were fixed in the Marmara Sea in 1999. The magnitude of tremors was 7.4 and 18,000 people were killed in the resulting earthquake.
