Andy Murray says he would be "very surprised" if he is fit for the French Open after retiring injured against Marcel Granollers at the Italian Open, BBC reported.
The Briton endured a miserable 26th birthday as a lower-back pd.roblem forced him out of his second-round tie.
Murray looked troubled throughout his match against his Spanish opponent and withdrew after winning a tie-break to square the match at one set all.
The second Grand Slam tournament of the year begins at Roland Garros on 26 May.
"I'd be very surprised if I was playing in Paris," said Murray.
"I need to make a plan as to what I do. I'll chat with the guys tonight and make a plan for the next few days, then make a decision on Paris after the next five days."
