Political
The Assembly of Azerbaijani-Armenians has decided to nominate the candidacy of head of the Assembly Grigory Ayvazyan for the upcoming Azerbaijani presidential elections. Ayvazyan has accepted this proposal and promised to carry out the task with honor.
Grigory Ayvazyan in a talk wit reporters said that Ilham Aliyev is his main rival at the Azerbaijani presidential elections.
According to G. Ayvazyan all the elections in Azerbaijan since 1990 were invalid because Azerbaijani Armenian were deprived of the possibility to participate in the elections. "A unique opportunity is to organize the first real competitive elections in Azerbaijan."
“If Azerbaijan registers me as a presidential candidate and gives me a possibility to hold election campaign on equal conditions with other candidates, I am sure that I will win with at least 60 percent of votes,” Ayvazyan said.
The head of the Assembly of Azerbaijani-Armenians added that he has a large army of supporters and that he will leave for Azerbaijan as soon as he gets security guarantees.
G. Ayvazyan noted that they do not have financial problems because many Azerbaijani people, who are in oppressed condition under Aliyev's clan are willing to allocate money.
He said that today his campaign is officially launching, and, "we are coming in order to create more democratic Azerbaijan, to liberate the indigenous peoples, refugees and resolve Nagorno Karabakh conflict. We are coming and will do what we have promised."
