Egyptians petition Morsi’s removal, early elections
World
Hundreds of Egyptians have taken part in protests against the president of the republic Mohammed Morsi after almost a year after his election to the presidency.
They gathered in Tahrir Square, which just a couple of weeks ago was completely cleared of protesters.
The area where a tent camp was finally cleared and automobile traffic resumed is once again blocked. "The return to Tahrir" – is the principal slogan of Friday's protests against Morsi and the Islamist government.
Members of the “rebellion” – an anti-Morsi campaign, gathered signatures for a petition urging Morsi’s removal and early elections.
