Israel restates threats regarding weapons from Syria
Middle East
Israel has stated that they will not allow modern weapons from Syria’s arsenal to reach Hezbollah according to a statement made at a cabinet meeting by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
In his opinion at the center of the growing tensions in the Middle East is Syria, and Israel is closely monitoring the developments in the region and ready for any scenario, TASS reports.
Netanyahu's statement was made two weeks after Israeli air strikes on Syrian territory, for which Damascus has accused the Jewish state of supporting the armed opposition and threatened to retaliate.
Without admitting or denying any involvement in the bombing of Syria, the Israeli authorities say they are willing to use force to prevent radical groups from obtaining modern weapons from the arsenals of the Syrian army.
