Venezuela prepared to normalize relations with US

Venezuela is prepared to bring relations with the United States back to normal, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister Elias Jaua said in an interview with a local TV channel, Interfax reports.

The first move should be the restoration of relations at the ambassadorial level, he said. Venezuela and the United States have had diplomatic relations at the chargé d’affaires level since 2010.

Observers point out Mr. Jaua’s statement is more proof of Caracas’s actual wish to improve relations with Washington.
