2.5 tons of cocaine seized of Panama

According to the Panamanian Coast Guard the authorities of Panama seized around 2.5 tons of cocaine off Panama's Caribbean coast near the city of Colon.

The drugs were seized Friday on a speedboat and an armed Honduran man was arrested.

Panama's security forces have seized more than 8 ton of drugs since beginning of the year.

Drug runners and narcotics traffickers often smuggle narcotics from neighbouring Colombia through or near Panama on the way to the U.S., their biggest market.
