Bolivia's Morales to run for third term in 2014

Bolivia’s President Evo Morales will be able to run for a third term in the presidential elections scheduled for 2014. A ruling to this effect was passed by the country’s Constitutional Court a short time ago.
Even though under the country’s constitution, presidents are allowed to serve two consecutive terms, in the case of Evo Morales the court rules that his first term should not count because the amendments to the current constitution were adopted during his first four years in office.
Opposition parties demand that the newly passed law should be repealed.
