Syrian army destroys Israeli military vehicle in Golan Heights

Syrian army says it has destroyed an Israeli military vehicle that crossed the sensitive Golan Heights ceasefire line into the Syrian territory, media report.

“Our armed forces have destroyed an Israeli vehicle with everything that it had in it... The vehicle had crossed the ceasefire line and was moving towards the village of Bir Ajam in Syria,” the statement said.

On Monday, a military SUV bearing Israeli identification markings was allegedly seized by Syrian troops from terrorists spotted near the Syrian-Lebanese border. The Israeli command denied this report.

Israel said its military vehicle came under Syrian fire in the disputed Golan Heights. In response, the patrol returned fire at the source of shooting, they claimed.
