The European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the organizer of the Eurovision Song Contest 2013, has rejected all claims of ignoring the Azeri votes for the Russian representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 Dina Garipova, who took the 5th place there.
“The combination of distant voting and the votes of the jury, which form the total result in the 50 to 50 per cent arrangement has made it impossible for Russia to rank among the top 10 in Azerbaijan. That is why Azerbaijan did not grant its vote to Russia. This result was confirmed notarially at the scene by our partner in vote counting Digame and an independent observer from the PwC”- this came in a statement.
The representative of the organizing committee has come out against any attempts to change the results of the contest by political methods.
