Henrikh Mkhitaryan: "I wish I could play in 20 years’ time..."

In the May issue of Shakhtar official club magazine, we tried to cast our minds back to the past. Of course, we were travelling in time together with Shakhtar players. In particular, the Pitmen’s top scorer of this season Henrikh Mkhitaryan reflected on the difference in football of different decades.

- Henrikh, had the present-day teams been brought some 20-30 years back, who would have been the trendsetter then?

- I can’t tell you that. After all, I haven’t seen that football in real life. Now, the equipment is different, the cameras. Maybe that's why football seems all the more dynamic to everyone, well, possibly, the speed has really increased. In general, it would be interesting if I could play now, and then in some 20 years again. That's when I would say whether it is possible to compete and who would win. But football has been fun both in those days and now. Football is still football - that's the most important thing, and the teams and players are improving every year.
