Sergio Ramos: “Bale is the best choice for Real Madrid”
Sport
“Bale the Real deal”, was the play on words with which British tabloid the Sun, known for its punning approach to journalism, opened its Sports section this Thursday. The paper reported statements from Madrid second captain Sergio Ramos in which he backed a move by his club for star player Gareth Bale, currently at Tottenham. “Gareth Bale is a Real Madrid-quality signing. He has had an exceptional season. He can punish any team in the world and has the footballing qualities we look for in Madrid. I am sure Madrid will not be the only team that want to sign him — but he is the right mould for us.”
The Sun put the possible deal at being worth 70 million euros, and said that Real Madrid are determined to pull off the transfer this summer, after Tottenham’s disaster in the Premier, where they finished fifth and out of the lucrative Champions League spots. As this newspaper, AS, published today Real Madrid’s first offer is 50 million plus a player: Higuaín, Pepe, Di María or Coentrao could be the make-weight.
