Renowned film director Pyotr Todorovsky passes away

The death of Pyotr Todorovsky is a grievous loss to Russian art, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said concerning the death of the famous Russian film director. Todorovsky died in Moscow on Friday at the age of 88.
According to Medvedev, his life was inseparably linked to the fate of his generation that had to undergo enormous hardships. He fought in the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945) and dedicated his talent to cinematography and became a renowned director, script writer, operator and composer.
All his creative works bear the earmarks of sincere love to people and his country.
His films such as “Spring on Zarechnaya Street”, “Wartime Romance” and “The beloved Woman of Mechanic Gavrilov” are considered classic films.
