"Santos has told us it's not selling"

Neymar's father responded to journalists during an event for his son's foundation, after Santos rejected the latest offer made by Barcelona.

"I don't know anything about the figures they're talking about, because I'm not involved in that. I just asked Santos for an answer, and Santos has taken the position that it is not selling the player. Life goes on."

The Brazilian star's contract with the club comes to an end in June 2014: "There's still a year to go before the player leaves and six months for him to sign a preliminary agreement. Santos must be thinking about that, but no-one has spoken to us about how it can be done. In the meantime, there's no reason for us to take a position. We can't and we won't."
