Falcao travels to Monaco to discuss his contract
Sport
Atlético Madrid striker Radamel Falcao will be in Monaco on Monday evening to attend talks tomorrow on the details of his move to the club. In principle the negotiations will take place between the player, his agent Jorge Mendes and the club’s multi-millionaire owner Dmitry Rybolovlev.
The Colombian is keen to get the details first hand on the club’s sporting project and thrash out salary and other details of his contract with what will likely be his new club. There are a number of versions, but it appears likely the striker could be set to earn 10 million net per season, three times what he’s earning in Spain. Atlético would receive the player’s buy-out clause of 60 million euros.
Once Falcao has spoken to Monaco he will inform his current club of the state of the talks, with the operation likely to be finalised in the next few days.
Agency Agence France-Presse reports that Victor Valdés has also travelled to Monaco for talks on a possible move, though sources close to the player denied the information.
