According to newspaper ‘Sport’ Neymar will officially become a Barcelona player this afternoon, Monday, when he signs with the club for five seasons. The footballer, his father, Raúl Sanllehí (Barcelona football director) and the Brazilian representatives of both player and club, met in the player’s offices in Brazil. The ex Brazilian player Edmilson posted a photo of the meeting right after the papers were signed, with the comment "Neymar is a Barcelona player".
The final price is 72 million euros, divided up as follows. 32 are going to Santos, and 50 – of which Barcelona have already advanced 10 – being split between the player and his father, as a signing fee. The two other firms that hold part of the player’s rights, Teisa and DIS, will need to come to an agreement with Santos over what they are to receive. Teisa should present no problems, as it is owned by the directors of the club. However with DIS the matter could well end up in the courts if there isn’t an agreement. If this occurs and the judgement goes against Santos Barcelona have agreed to pay any possible compensation.
